A holiday tradition, invitational tournaments bring together the top talent in high school sports to duke it out in pre-season tune ups. Often these tournaments feature dream match-ups of out-of-state teams, and this year two of the largest in basketball were hosted at VNN schools including the Chick-Fil-A Classic at Richland Northeast (SC), and the Les Schwab Invitational at Liberty High School in Portland (OR).
In both tournaments, Oak Hill Academy (VA) took home titles beating formidable foes IMG Academy (FL) and Mater Dei (CA) to win, including a last-second game winner by Oregon Ducks commit Will Richardson to win the Chick-Fil-A title, and the block heard round the world by David McCormack:
