I got done with a meeting the other day, one of those big brainstorming events with a wall sized white board and multiple dry-erase markers. We came up with tons of good ideas, but were left with the task of moving the white board notes onto a computer.
One of the guys in the room took out his iPhone and clicked a few pictures of the display. I asked why and he showed me a free app called Evernote.
Evernote allows you to take pictures of your notes, send it to your computer, and access later.
What’s awesome is the software somehow recognizes my handwriting (something I can’t even do half of the time) and allows me to search for terms.
For example, let’s say you had a meeting with the principal, took some notes and a week later can’t find that sheet of paper. If you used Evernote, just type in a few words from the meeting and the document will show up.
This has really helped me organize my notes and I highly recommend it to any athletic director. Also, consider forwarding this along to your coaches for when they’ve drawn up that perfect game winning play on a restaurant napkin.
