Tonight, in Michigan’s first slate of football games, east-side powerhouse Farmington Hills Harrison heads across the state to challenge west-side powerhouse East Grand Rapids in non-conference play. This will be the third match-up between the storied programs, who have 24 state titles (13 for Harrison, 11 for East Grand Rapids) between them, including the last time they met, in 2006’s Division 3 State Title game where East Grand Rapids took home the hardware 42-17. The first meeting, in 1989 was in the then-Class B State Semifinals, with the Hawks winning 3-2. Both teams won their last state championships in 2010 (EGR in Division 3, FHH in Division 2).
