Full Stack Developer (Remote)

We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer, but this role is far more than a simple “developer”.

You’ll be working with a small team to ensure the successful execution of our technology strategy. You’ll write good front-end and back-end code following best practices, including unit testing and code review. Your success on assignments will result from cultivating an ongoing relationship with operations, sales, marketing, technology partners and advertisers leveraging those unique insights to craft user experience. 

Working with our tight-knit team, you won’t have to worry about big company bureaucracy or not having an impact. The first project you work on will be launched to the VNN network within two months of starting and the code you work on will be used by thousands on a daily basis. 

Signs that you’re the one:

  • 2- 4 Years experience in PHP/MySQL 
  • Ability to use various flavors of JavaScript (ECMA 5-10, working in AngularJS, React, NodeJS)
  • Ability to learn and script in various environments (Capistrano, Ansible, Shell scripts)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or other education/proof of knowledge) in a related/relevant field
  • Passion for building software and solving complex problems
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills needed for the success of a remote group that leverages Slack and Hangouts
  • Understanding that problem solving is a team effort and is willing to ask for help when it’s needed and will help others in our team learn and develop.
  • Understand the balance between crafting a high quality, lasting solution and getting the job done.
  • Ability to embrace the many different roles you will have to play in a start-up environment

Bonus: 

  • Interest in sports and/or sports related activities (Band, Booster Clubs, team mascot, etc. ) 
  • Knowledge of cloud computing systems (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc)
  • Familiar with JIRA
  • Familiar with GraphQL

Inside Sales Rep (Grand Rapids, MI)

It’s a very exciting time here at VNN. Business is growing faster than ever and the Inside Sales Rep position is essential for our continued growth. This position is a great opportunity for a high performing and motivated individual to join our team.  

As an Inside Sales Rep with VNN , you will help high school athletic departments create the collegiate-level brand they’ve always wanted by celebrating athletes from every sport. If you are interested in giving local communities one place to rally around school athletes and their activities and giving businesses highly targeted opportunities to speak with their customers, we know just the place.  

The Daily: 

  • Own and drive the full sales cycle (prospect, present, close)
  • Conduct engaging online demonstrations to local sponsors
  • Set presentations for National/Regional account executives
  • Use a consultative sales approach, negotiate, overcome objections and close deals
  • Maintain daily cold calling minimums
  • Contribute to ideas that make our product and service better
  • Consistently exceed sales objectives and quotas (monthly)

Signs you’re the right person?

  • Minimum of 2 years of inside sales experience with a successful track record
  • Positive attitude and a drive to win

State Manager (Los Angeles, CA)

It’s a very exciting time here at VNN. Business is growing faster than ever and the School Sales Specialist position is essential for our continued growth. This position is a great opportunity for a high performing and motivated individual to join our team.  

As a VNN School Specialist  you will contribute to the VNN vision of becoming the dominant digital platform for high school sports by working primarily with school partners to get them engaged and utilizing their sites in the best way possible. This will include training and re-training new and established school partners and selling partner integrations. 

The Daily:  

  • Actively call on local High Schools not currently working with VNN to generate interest and set up appointments.
  • Perform online and in person demos to current customers and new prospects
  • Work with VNN internal support team to identify schools that need extra attention and training
  • Conduct coaches trainings for high schools to increase coach engagement
  • Coach Athletic Directors on how to best utilize the tools offered on the VNN platform
  • Use a consultative sales approach, negotiate, overcome objections and close deals
  • Contribute to ideas that make our product and service better
  • Consistently exceed sales objectives and quotas (monthly)

  • Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience with a successful track record
  • Positive attitude and a drive to win

School Engagement Specialist (Grand Rapids, MI)

The Job:

As a VNN School Engagement Specialist you will contribute to the VNN vision of becoming the dominant digital platform for high school sports. Your contributions will be made through driving growth and engagement of current VNN school relationships. Utilizing primarily phone and email communication you will provide proactive outreach to athletic directors with the goal of addressing problem areas, training and retraining, re-engaging inactive sites, generating interest and excitement around new VNN products and qualifying leads and setting appointments for School Sales Reps.

Signs the you’re the one:

  • Bachelor’s degree in  business, sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent)
  • 2+ Years experience in customer service
  • Strong phone presence 
  • Experience completing high volume calls 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to actively listen and address customer concerns 
  • Strong problem identification and objections resolution skills.
  • Strong level of coachability
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within company outlined processes
  • Ability to travel an average of 2-3 days (including overnight) travel per quarter for conferences and customer training
